They hate needles as all children

“I’m still scared of the needles and some doctors, but when I pray to God it
becomes less painful and I’m less afraid. I don’t have to cry then.”

This is a saying of a thalassemic child. I found it on the inner cover of a book written for families of patients with thalassemia, published by CIBA in the 1980s.

You might already know that patients with thalassemia major can never live without blood transfusion.

I think it is so touching 😦
